The rules say we were aloud to cover songs off American Gothic because iTunes, labeled all the songs under the Zeitgeist title.

oh, i didnt see those rules after american gothic came out, only saw them when they were first up, awesome cover, this is better than the other ones so far

Yeah I figured it was inevitable that someone was going submit something off of American Gothic, since it was packaged with Zeitgeist on iTunes instead of its own. So we pre-emptively opened the flood gates on that. I think someone was considering covering "Gossamer" but that was only performed live, so we had to say no.

Nice job! I reall like it, but I was wondering what your recording methods are? I have been recording a few songs lately of my own, but the quality isn't nearly as high as this. Do you use a professional mic?

For this I used a Shure SM57 and an MXL 990. I ran both mic's through a mixer.

are you serious? the part when you say i lay roses at your feet is good, but you went to fast from that phrase to the till you decide phrase so the entire ending is not in sync with your guitar

yep thats the only thing i could notice is that your a fair bit out of time in the closing moments at the "roses at your feet" part of the song approx 3:30 ...

TheChange: Thanks. The only tab on the internet that I could find of this song was way wrong. So I pretty much figured it out by listening and watching live Rose March Videos.

that you recorded your voice with the original song literally. But of course you don't have one of the guitar parts and the drum beat at the end, so it's not a vocal cover, but a full cover. But perhaps they just meant what you said.

Hello everyone. There have been several complaints about the voting system. And after further review, some flaws were identified. My colleague, the webmaster for ThePumpkins.net, Jay (MurderMcMurderson) has installed some new security measures to help ensure more fair voting. And to help things along, we are starting fresh, so the voting is as fair was we can get it from the start.
Please recast your vote if have not already done so. Before you vote, please thoughtfully listen to all the Zeitgeist covers, and choose what you feel is the best cover. In all honesty, this contest should be an indication of how many feel a given cover is the best cover, not who is the most popular band, artist, or person.
If you have submitted something for the contest, please encourage your fans to check out all the covers before making a decision. You are welcome to mention that you have a cover up for the contest, but I am imploring you not to blatantly tell people to go vote for your cover.
I know we cannot control what people to tell their fans on myspace or anywhere else, but I am asking you to do a favor to everyone involved, and be as fair and honest as possible. In the scheme of things, I would hope that people would get more enjoyment from winning fairly, knowing what people actually think of their cover, rather than distorting the outcome to win a few CDs and vinyls.
