  • Thank you for submitting for the contest. We now have two unique takes on Spaceboy to listen to. It's interesting to hear different takes of some of the songs. This, Luna, Plume, Daydream. Though I think it will be make people's jobs even harder when choosing their favorite, especially if it comes down to deciding which version of a song they like better. That's 26 entries. I wonder if we will get to 30 by the end.

Good luck to you and everyone has submitted :-).

  • and everyone who has submitted rather.

  • I like the decaying effect on the acoustic and the scary little organ thing during the chorus. Also that slightly different chord change in the verse is a great touch. Really nice man.

This is very beautiful and you can tell that it was made with real love and respect for the original. The vocals are fantastic and the the acoustic guitar sounds gorgeous. You certainly have an ear as to the essence of the song and have retained that while putting a unique twist on it! Good luck in the competition.

  • Beautiful, love the vocals and organs!

Great cover man, this sounds really good. I really enjoyed what you did with it!

  • I disagree... I thought the Theremin patch (scary organ sounds) was annoying in what otherwise was a nice cover... It worked for Brian Wilson in Good Vibrations... but not here...

+1 on loving the spooky organ sound. There are a few covers I like enough to want to hear more from the artist. This is one of them. You have a smooth voice and the organ/theremin patch makes it unique (for me).

    Loved the cover

  • Theremins are awesome... I'll give you that... what do I know...? :-)
I didn't meant to mean to sound as critical as I did... nice vision and originality in this cover... thank you for not trying to sound like the record...

To whomever said they were interested to hear some music from me. . .

Mostly instrumentals since that is what I used to make. Fairly new to songwriting but I have several being worked on.

I'm glad some of you liked it. I can understand the theremin being annoying. I always remembered it from annoying halloween decorations. I had the mellotron section all worked out just like the album but then I didn't want to do the exact same thing so I picked theremin since its spaceboy and the theremin is . . infamously? known for its use in bad sci fi space movies.

  • I totally dig the vibe in this cover. I love the dark feel.

Wow. Billy wrote this for his brother, and you're the first person i've seen have success in delivering the emotion behind it. Great job man.

  • ps. I love the theremin man. For real. I love this song and i love your version as well. So well done!

The theremin works here. You didn't focus on it too much, and that's what I like about it. Great job, an excellent cover.
