I agree completely! Ever since I started listening to the Smashing Pumpkins, they have entered my mind pretty much every day. In the past, it would never have occurred to me that I would become obsessed with some sort of famous person, but I welcome this obsession completely. It feels good to be obsessed! It's such a great platonic love that I've even had dreams about Billy Corgan (again, I emphasize platonic), and sometimes just thinking about him, and about all the beauty he has let into my life, gives me hope and makes me feel better. I know that the actual person is probably pretty different from how I imagine him to be, but it doesn't matter. If Billy Corgan was a religion, I'd gladly join it!

And that's another reason I'm grateful for this site--to know that there are other people who feel the same way.

Let's all start a Billy religion! We'll call it Corganism!

Billy is indeed, the man! So much of his music I love and can relate to.
It is really hard for me to imagine my life without such an inspirational band to look up to and love and cherish.
If i ever meet him I think I will simply say ,"Thank-you Mr. Corgan for changing my life."

You're exactly right. Now that the subject has come up, I should really write out a letter one day to each of the Pumpkins in case I ever meet one. That way instead of just blurting out some stupid meaningless thing, we can talk about more interesting things and they can just read the letter later on.

Sorry Mr. Wilson, but it's a fact that Billy Corgan's songwriting has changed and influenced the lives of hundreds of people the world over (myself included). I'm completely comfortable saying he's the single greatest musician in the world and I firmly believe it to my core! God bless you, Billy!

Yup, their songs have been there for me at some very hard times and have somewhat saved me, or brought me closer to someone I love, I never thought I'd be so obsessed, but I really really am l.o.l.

Yeah, I mean...I think we're all SP fans for a reason. It's like my brother once told me, "I've always found that people either casually like the Smashing Pumpkins, or they're totally obsessed." It sounds a bit extreme, but it's the truth. I love the Pumpkins and it's a wonderful thing to have a passion. In many cases, this has brought about other passions, like making music and art and things like that. The point is that enjoying SP isn't a bad thing, at least I don't think so.
