Do you think that because Billy moved in with Courtney to help with her new album that this will delay the SP reunion & album?

No.

Billy is producing music for a new film and other work etc.. etc..

But remember, even when SP was around he did just as much, if not more work on other projects...

The album is set to be recorded this summer for a 2007 release. How can it be delayed when Billy planned it this way originally?

I was just wondering..... Im just hating the suspense now. Heh.

Well, Billy it's an idiot if he let that woman delay the project even more ... i'm sure i'm not the only one tired of wait

Dear oh dear. Do you people honestly think that contracts, projects and what not are down at the last minute?

Especially with artists just as and more established as and including Billy Corgan whenever anything like this is agreed, the contract is written up long in advance, the calender needs time to be scheduled, everything is agreed long before it even kicks off. It won't be delayed unless there is problems making Courtney's album.

Billy was talking about re-forming SP in his announcement that Zwan was splitting up 2 years ago. People seemed to of overlooked that part. He's been planning this since Zwan split, through his solo album and any other projects. It's just about timing.

Nothing will delay this for Billy as he's already started it, wether James is already back, or he returns for part of the album, the tours, or later on the line it doesn't matter.

This is what matters and this is what we should care about:

1. Smashing Pumpkins are back.
2. Billy is writing the music he wants to write.
3. It doesn't matter who is in the band aslong as it works
4. It doesn't matter what YOU think of the new material:

Quite frankly wether you like it or not doesn't matter in the slightest. This is down to THE SMASHING PUMPKINS, what they write, play, sing. YOU don't dictate how things should be within the band, YOU don't decide how the sound should be and YOU don't write the material for them. Smashing Pumpkins decide thier direction and style.

If they want Eric Avery, D'arcy, Melissa or Pol Pot playing bass then they will. Not because it suits YOU, its because they believe that person is the right person for the job, that they fit into the band, that they contribute effectively, and want to be part of SP, that they can ensure a future for and with the band. Simple as.

This may be the wrong thread to say this. This post may be harsh, but tough.

Of course we cant control what SP does, duh, haha. Who said that we could?

Easy there, Rocket Baby. If that were true, we would all be wasting our time here. We are only observers of the process, but we can still share opinions with each other.

There has always been communication between the band and the fans. That has always been part of The Smashing Pumpkins. We're only talking among ourselves here because we have a common interest, but it would be a lie to think that Billy and the band don't occasionally hear what the fanbase has to say.

Agreed. I just really hope that everything is done in a careful and judicious way. In the past Billy has acknowledged that the band (and quite often, he) didn't do things as carefully or put as much thought into certain things as it should have. So I really hope that this time around he along with Jimmy and hopefully James (and though it's a long shot, D'arcy) are doing things in the best way possible. If that takes time, then I don't care. Just as long as they're doing what they want in the best way possible.
