Most musical guests get to play around a five 5 song set. It's billed as a free "mini concert."

They're playing the Guitar Hero World Tour launch party tonight at the Best Buy in West Hollywood. It's a private party, by invitation only, but they are scheduled to play about an hour long set tonight. Should be interesting to see what they play.

Long story short about the Kimmel experience yesterday:

ROCK SHOW. GLOW, Tarantula, Speed Kills, Superchrist and United States. Kind of an interesting mix. They had soundchecked with Porcelina! But it was not meant to be. Some of the old school fans didn't know what to make of the set, but the teenagers were moshing and crowd-surfing! I for one have a stiff neck now from headbanging so much. Jeff and Billy did this incredible dual solo during United States that freaking blew me away! For all his subtlety, Jeff can jam, man!

Hollywood High School was having its homecoming game right across the street. I don't think they knew how lucky they were to have the Mighty SP rocking in their neighborhood.

I think the best part of it all was that the whole band was SMILING the whole time. Jimmy was making some excellent goofy faces during the United States drum solo, and Billy just seemed so tickled pink to be there. I think he's quite happy to have seen a mix of us older kiddies who came of age in the 90s and a gaggle of a new generation of fans (including a 17-year-old who got kicked out for being too drunk, haha).

For a free show, that was fooking brilliant. I was invited to the Guitar Hero gig tonight, but alas, I'm already covering another concert for a magazine, and it's my mom's birthday so I'm doing the family thing. (Although, in 2004 when Billy was doing his book signing, I got him to wish my mom a happy birthday over the phone. She's a bit of a fan as well, hehe.)

My neck was hurting last show I went to, but it's so worth it!!!
I have to see this..I hope it's available for us who only got a taste from the television.

So my mom called me and told me she watched the Pumpkins last night with a house full of people. She like Tarantula a lot. She could barely hear G.L.O.W. because everyone was noisy, but overall she's fan now!!! and someone asked who is this band again? They liked them too Awesome!!

They need to upload the show onto the website...NOW!
