Wow! Billy seems seems to have become a vulnerable old soul in the warts'n'all documentary part of the dvd.
I suppose it can be tiresome batting off the critics when all that you want to do is entertain people.
What I saw in the documentary was a man and his band wrestling with the dilema of re-inventing an old brand into something fresh and exciting.
I just get the feeling that the Pumpkins will evetually get the universal respect that they crave.
You can't keep a good band down for long.

Why don't they get respect? I can't wrap my mind around it. I mean like, how is it possible to love Brittney Spears and hate Smashing Pumpkins????? There seems to be a major lacking of substance in the world, not only in music, but in society in general. Maybe some day they will get the respect they deserve. I hope so, but for now I happy knowing that I 'get' it at least.

I think that it was always going to be a difficult rebirth of a band that made reached such heights in the 90's.
Billy's music influenced many musicans that we hear today saying that a lot of young bands don't show respect because they don't want the competition.
In an overcrowded rock scene where fans are spoiled with so many fine bands respect has to be earned.
The Pumpkins need a big studio album next year ,lets hope that the talents of Mr Corgan shine through:)

it's because sex appeal sells in the industry and that is what is on many minds..It's all about how someone looks and shakes their ass...So the artists with real talent don't get looked at cuz they don't have that sex appeal or bling bling going on-they keep it real and real is not what they want
