Do you remember someone posted a link (months ago) to where Billy/SP were listed as having some of the worst lyrics and this song was one of the ones quoted. Whoever wrote that list really didn't get the song at all - probably never even listened to it.

you know i almost think i saw that somewhere. i don't remember where though i just remember being "what the hell" about it.

edit:
after some google searching i think maybe it was Blender. the article is off their site now, but it looks like he was number 39 out of 40 on their list of worst lyricists in rock.

mine too and really that claim is pretty unjustifiable i think. he clearly is a fantastic song writer. sure he has the odd weird lyric like anybody, but most of the billion songs he has written are very well written.

i think that it is lyrically strong, and musically pretty. but nothing complex, and nothing i would put on a list of my favorite pumpkins songs. let alone the top of my list when it comes to mellon collie.
i say a 4.

It was hard for me to like this song. I really don't like the ending with the dry speaking. The "yeah yeah yeah" part is good. However I did cover this song when I was feeling it and really enjoyed it, but alas it's not my kind of song and is the only one on Mellon Collie that'll get this low of a rating.

With that said, I do think it belongs on the album, it fits very well as a transition.
