It´s a absolutely highlight to me, because it combines many typical pumpkins elements (Voice, Drum, Bass). I love it! It should beat "Thru the eyes of ruby" (don´t understand why it´s Nr.1 whether it´s good without a doubt).
I give "Set the ray..." 10 points. ("It´s a masterpiece, what else could I say" )

It used to be my favorite b side off of Aeroplane but that honor has moved on to Cherry.
I still really like this song though and I'm giving it a 10.

Why did they put a stupid song like Sweet Sweet on Siamese Dream and not a masterpiece like Set The Ray To Jerry? Why did they put garbage like Cupid De Lock, Take Me Down, We Only Come Out At Night, Beautiful and not a masterpiece like Set The Ray To Jerry? This song is so fantastic, I really wish this had been on an album at some point. That being said this song gets fucking 10 / 10, if I could rate it any higher I would, there are no words to describe how great this song is I could just go on saying good things about this song until I died and I wouldn't be have said enough. Kick Through The Eyes Of Ruby out of the top spot and put this baby there instead. Anyone who rates this song as less than 10 / 10 is possessed by the devil, or is a complete psychopath and needs to be locked up before they hurt someone! You know it would be funny if I was joking...but I'm not.

In my book, almost every SP song from 1988 to 2000 could beat it (except Bullet).
I am thinking of In My Body the way most in here worship this song.

It´s the same I think. But that´s not the reason why I´ve rated "Set->Jerry" with 10 points.

But I don´t like "Ruby" very very much. I would have rated 7 points, if I were here here in the forum at that time, cause I seriously think that "Ruby" is a very untypical pumpkins song. Don´t know why.

I think there was no place for "Set the ray..." on Mellon Collie, whether it´s better than some other songs.
The album is complete as it is and the "1979 single" is completely perfect with "Set the ray...", i thnk.

10. I think MCIS is fine the way it is. This song is perfect by itself or within the context of the single. I don't really find the idea of this being on MCIS or SD relevant. It's the digital age, you can re-arrange these songs however you want and have your own beautiful MCIS to enjoy. The beauty of all this technology is Billy's album decisions don't have to limit you anymore.

Anywho, I love how the drums and vocals carry this song from calm to exciting peaks. It's very different dynamically from other pumpkins songs and that makes me enjoy it all the more. As much as I enjoy Epics like Procelina and Ruby, something about a super emotive song with simple instrumentation always appeals to me a bit more.

Sweet Sweet is an amazing song, perfect where it is on Siamese Dream.

And yeah Don, you must have missed something. Of all people I thought you were going to give a 10 for sure. This song is the embodiment of everything SP1 was...
