THIS! :mad
You're obliged to pretend respect for people and institutions you think absurd. You live attached in a cowardly fashion to moral and social conventions you despise, condemn, and know lack all foundation. It is that permanent contradiction between your ideas and desires and all the dead formalities...

This is decent, but seems to be lacking something that most of the other songs have. That twangy noise wavers between sounding good and sounding annoying, to me.

Oh, I do enjoy how he repeats the line "I used to know what a wish was for" though. That's deep, man.

My thoughts:
I can see and hear that it's good, and I do really like it, but it's not one that's become addictive for some reason. Maybe it will become so later on. But for now, I'm not listening to this one over and over and over again incessantly. I guess it just didn't grab me that way. Then again it is much preferable to some of what can be found on Zeitgeist, and some of the songs I've heard from TG.

For some reason, there are only like one or two songs from TG that I've rated as more than just "okay". But I haven't listened to them incessantly. I guess I need to give them more of a chance ;) But I guess I had the same problem I am having with some of these tunes - "they don't grab me." I tend to listen to a song and if I instantly want to listen to it over & over, then that's what I'll do. Really never happened with any of the TG songs, sad to say. But I have not given up ;)

11. Glissandra

This song, the couple either side of it, are keeping Oceania new for me because I haven't listened to them as much as the rest.

While I do like this one, I just keep feeling like it's not as good or different as the other songs on Oceania. Like, I can see this better placed as a B-side to The Celestials or My Love is Winter.

Hmm. Then regarding it just on the album, the rating might improve somewhat. I sort of see The Chimera / Glissandra / Inkless almost like a superficial attempt to revive the old band. Like everything up to Pale Horse was the new band, and he somehow falls asleep in it, and forgets it's 2012 and returns back to 1996. It's the dream version of what he would be closing the show back then. Of course Wildflower is the wake up.
