Disintegration, Pornography and Bloodflowers are my top 3. Wish, 4:13 Dream, The Cure and Kiss Me are all really good too. In fact, they're mostly pretty darned good! :D

I would say anything The Cure did during the 80's. The Staring at the Sea singles compilation is pretty good too!

I am a Cure poser, I only have one of The Cure best of compilations, Galore, along with A Night Like This and Let's Go To Bed. The Cure originally of A Night Like This is way better than James' cover, sorry James :p. Funny enough James appears in the video for Ivy's cover of "Let's Go To Bed".

But Don! You can't get much more goth than the Cure! :p

Thanks for the recommendations guys, think I'll check out Disintegration next.

That's my favourite album of the 80s.

I really like this song! The only part I'm not feeling is the "And still she's gone" part! During the live versions this was my favourite part with those beautiful ambient guitars but their absence in the studio version kinda ruins it for me!

Beautiful acoustic section halfway through.

As with seemingly every other song on this album, the more I listen to it, the more I love it! My only real complaint anymore with this tune is that some of the transitions between different sections don't feel completely natural and the ending is somewhat unexpected. It just sort of fades. I was hoping for something a bit more grand like the beautiful outro of Ruby.

Yes!. The ending is a big problem for this song. The only real problem IMO. The fuzzy solo sounds great, but then it just fades out like someone accidentally shut it down prematurely. Doesn't sound like a proper ending to me at all. Such a shame.

I agree the ending does seem too sudden. Probably could've gone on for a few more minutes with mellow chill out stuff.

Most of the songs on Oceania should have gone longer or with a smoother ending.

I agree. Wish they would have done something more instead of a fade out.

Same here! That riff that fades out is probably my favourite on the album, would have loved to hear a minute or so more. Honestly, I thought something had gone wrong when I first heard the song fade out on that iTunes stream but I think the song is strong enough to get over that!

How does this stand up to other SP epics for you guys? It's quite early yet but it's certainly just ahead of United States in my opinion!

Well it doesn't really feel forced as much as United States in my opinion but US has actually kind of grown on me. Oceania is still a pretty boss song, especially the end of it. That twin solo is boss.

I agree that it could have gone on for longer. I was disappointed that it faded out but still really like ths song.In terms of epics, my favorite is still "Thru The Eyes of Ruby". Most epics for SP are awesome anyhow though.

I feel the exact same way about the song. Though I feel the transitions were not as jarring as they were when I first heard it live back in Fall 2011. And yeah Ruby has a beautiful ending and I would have liked an ending more like that. Not a copy of it or Mellon Collie era or anything like that, but just something grand and beautiful like you said that reaches it's logical conclusion.

I like it a lot, but so far it's not quite up there with most other SP epics for me. Maybe it will be after more listens though.

@Don: Pertaining to most songs being able to go longer, maybe, but that probably would've been a bad idea considering the album is already an hour long.

@Strayz: Honestly, I like all other SP epics more EXCEPT for Glass and the Ghost Children. I've never cared much for that song except for maybe its live rendition.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who doesn't like the ending of "Oceania". It feels like something more should've happened.
