It might be just me, but does this seems like Oceania's, "Death from Above"?

For whatever reason, whenever I listen to this, I'm reminds me of Death From Above.

Nope, never even reminded me of that one. It reminds me of all the Tonite acoustic pieces, (and funny enough, Billy has said this started as an acoustic song.) My absolute favorite from the album.

There's a fine line between cheesy and genious and Billy got it right :) .
This sounds like New Order in their best days.

Good call on New Order, but it is only good, not great, to me because it seems a bit under-developed.

Maybe that's why I think of Death from Above, that song feels under developed to me too.

Under developed? :confused This is the most instrumentally complex song on the record. I'm not talking about the arpeggios either.

I don't mean at that technical of a level. I guess I should say that the song is of one monotone emotion and depth. It doesn't change up or shift moods. Struck me as pop, repetitive, and shallow. But what IS there is catchy and provocative, don't get me wrong.

Death From Above is a decent song which is spoiled by too much repetition of the song's title. One Diamond, One Heart, in my opinion, is excellent. I don't see a connection between the two, to be honest.

I didn't mean a technical level either, I was talking about the density. First is the simple beat, then the synth arpeggio, then the synth bass, then vocals, electric bass, the strings, the clanging guitar, the solo synth/string line, the solo guitar, the percussion... all weaving in and out of each other, never detracting of competing, but taking their turn in the spotlight in a quick rotation, attention called for a few quick seconds before fading back into this rich tapestry of sound, supporting whatever is next in line. And every single piece is not just a backup, but catchy on its own. Some amazing lyrics from Billy, an real love song without a sliver of corniness and overloaded with authentic reflection and passion.

There may be some valid criticisms of 1D1H yet to come to light, but "under developed" is not even close, in my humble opinion.

I've noticed this seems to be the song that gets the most hate. (right next to Quasar) I don't understand why, as I love it right now. It's so different than what SP usually does. Maybe I'll think differently after a while, but as of right now, I like it alot.

Some great synthy stuff going on here. Catchy, cool lyrics, good vocals... there's a lot to like :)

Pleasant enough. I definitely get an 80s feel to it. Especially with how much the chorus lifts the song.

So yeah. It's a simple set up. Never got how some people seem to be in love with this song. There's just not enough meat on the bones. Reminds me more of Owata than Death From Above, in either case those two are way better than this.

At first I was a bit leery of this song, due to what appeared to be the sheer sickly sweetness of it, but I'm getting to know it better and I'm liking it better too. Again it's one that I haven't been absolutely thrashing, but I still wouldn't have a reason to skip it unless I was currently addicted to some other song that I simply had to hear at the moment this one started.

Agreed on the 80s feel. It gives me a "Safety Dance" feel. ;)

This is a very 80s feeling track. Like it came out of the golden era of synth-pop. It is catchy and enjoyable enough but after substantial plays it starts wearing a little thin. BC has a solid vocal performance on this one and the instrumentation supports the synths and BC to a good degree. Solid track, though not in the top tier of the album.
