Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but I just noticed that on the SP MySpace that their top friends list has replaced all the fan clubs with bands, most notably, My Chemical Romance. I like Muse though, could this be an indication of the new style?

I'm just guessing that it's stuff they like but aren't going to be influenced by.

I hope thats not an indication of their new style. MCR is garbage, and I can't believe they get paid to make music...and I also can't believe people buy it.

Give this another thought, those bands are SP fanclubs. (Just a bit smaller)

(And dammit, Pistolpete, some people on the site LIKE MCR, you could just say you don't care for them...)

or maybe, they know alot of the SP fans dont like MCR, so they put them on their top friends just to piss us off. or not.

I hate mcr, there are two bands i hate the most at the moment. panic at the disco and mcr. Mcr think they are hardcore just because they use heavy guitars (dispite the fact that guitarist cant actualy play). Their lyrics are self obsessed drivel.

My guess is that TPQ decided to change the top friends list to bands that 1) she likes and/or 2)Billy likes, and 3)bands that are 'in' that cite some vague inspiration by SP.

You will notice that SP relevant bands like Garbage, Fountains of Wayne, Mike Garson, David Bowie, Ivy, and Kill Hannah are absent. Really I think at least some of these bands/artists should be on their list.

And if they are going to not put SP fan pages up on their top friends list, they should at least do us the courtesy of putting up the SP Fans of the World (run by an Australian fan) up on the top friends list. After all, the guy created it for the intent of acting as gateway for all the SP regional pages, including ones that TPQ has not had the chance to add to the SP fan page myspace directory.

And to perfectly honest, most people don't even pay attention to that list, or know it exists. I came to this conclusion after seeing people start up pages for cities or countries that already had 'official' SP fan pages. Not to mention when they had that SP myspace FAQ, where it explained why people couldn't add songs, there was still several people a day asking why they couldn't add the songs on SP's profile to their pages.

I like the fact they put Depeche Mode up, I'm kinda surprised they'd put Deftones on the list

just cause they have the deftones on there freinds list means jack shit who cares there a decent band nothing like the pumpkins but hey who is no ne can't top them i hate the yankees but i still like derek jeter as a ball player and thats saying something

Anyway, i think it's a case of gaining new fans from other fan bases.

i happen to like the deftones quiet alot, the one band there i cant stand is my chemical romance, i sure hope they were joking when they let them be put on there, what a laugh.

deftones are cool there a decent band saturday night wrist is a pretty good album but my chemical romance there just trying to be pumpkin clones fuck they suck im suprised they didn't try to work with butch vig or flood or alan moulder hell they got samuel bayer to direct there first video for there gay new album just like got him to direct BWBFW off mellon collie and the hair thig if that deuce goes bald for there next video its official there ripping off the best band ever idiots i hate those bastards sorry for the language but im just getting sick of those bastards making noise and calling it music thank god for the pumpkins saving music for us all

They're probably random bands. doesn't matter to me. As far as my opinion on MCR, I've listened to four songs by them or so, they're alright to me, just not my style. Personally I don't like how gerards voice blends in with the guitar tone.
