Hi everyone,

Im seeing SP in a weeks time at reading festival, just been checking some 2007 setlists, and classics like

soma
geek usa
siva
mayonaise
ava adore

etc havnt been played since the pumpkins return as far as I can see...can anyone tell me why this could be?

Apple I really wanted to hear Mayonaise as well, I heard he did play it at The Orange Peel once. I also really wanted to hear Ava Adore-
I hope you hear one of them, at least one of us heard it. The only Gish song I heard was Day Dream.

thats good news he played mayonaise... but ava adore would be killer. (you'll always be my hore, cause ur the one that i adore!!!!!) but im surprised they haven't played geek u.s.a. like he said, it might not work with the zeitgeist set list.

If they played Ava Adore, I would have died right there!
But they didn't
Although I am very grateful that I did get to see them, so no more complaining.

My opinion is that if James really cared so much, he would still be in the band. . .

Well there's rumors saying that either Billy did approach him and James flat out said no.
OR
That Billy didn't even bother to ask James.
Anybody have more info on this?

I think that article that billy put out in the newspaper was enough. If james really wanted to be in the band HE would have contacted Billy, not the other way around.

very true. james could have taken the initiative on this one but chose not to.

I'm hoping they'll play Geek USA and Mayo. It probably is just because they don't fit in well with Zeitgeist stuff. I REALLY don't think Ava Adore would work well. Oh well, I just don't think is the reasoning behind that.

i think it would be cooler if they just re-did the song(mayonaise), with a hardcore feel to it, cause its just a dreamer anthem, when it could easily be an angst anthem, i would really love that.... if he doesnt do it, im gonna

Unfortunately, yteah, every melodic hardcore band in existence already beat you to the Mayonaise cover!

Have you heard the SP cover album "The Killer in Me?" Some of the covers are kind of unlistenable but most would be right up your hardcore alley.

The cover you speak of was actually part of a free SP cover album in SPIN magazine last month. The album I speak of was released in Oct. 2006 on Reignition Records, called The Killer in You, which featured bands such as A Static Lullaby and Poison the Well.

where do we find this,...killer in you??

It's available on Amazon.com but I don't think it's widely available in walk-in stores.

I see that killer in me cd at fye everytime I check the pumpkin section for the parental advisory Rotten Apples.

It seems very unlikely that they can play a song that was cowritten by james, the rights to that song would be partially owned by him as well, so I don't really see that happening legally.

I REALLY regret them not playing Ava Adore. And I wish they would drop that awful version of Heavy Metal Machine. They've managed to make a bad song even worse.
