Do you ever think the original Pumpkins will ever take the stage again, or do you think all but Billy are gone for good?

Jimmy might play some shows with them again in the future - probably not, but seems possible.

I think we all know there's no chance of James or D'arcy ever having anything to do with SP again.

billy has publicly bashed them for years now, blaming james for the break up, calling darcy a drug addict. its no wonder they hate billy, and i think its perfectly fair for them to hate him.

I think maybe when the Pumpkins are inducted into the Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame they will. It wouldn't be right if James, Darcy, and Jimmy wern't there.

In my opinion, D'arcy, James and Jimmy plus a random-singer should found The Smashing Pumpkins now.
That would be more a reunion than the reunion in 2007.
Let's decide the US-justice who will be allowed to take the title SP, I'd really love to see Billy's face then

Billly is like 99% Pumpkins other than the drums so you're wrong Don. Seems like he's doing pretty good without them.

Mellon Collie wouldn't sound as it does if it would have been done 99% by Billy...it's a band album. Billy was dominating (as usual) but it's a band album, indeed. You can simply hear the difference.
After Mellon Collie, it used to become a solo project, but in my opinion they were a band till 1996. The last band effort was Aeroplane in 1996, the last release ever in original lineup. Just watch a show from 1998 to 1996. That was not only Billy, there was a sort of band dynamic.
Alright, today, Billy is 100% of whatever he's doing beacuse he usually scares everyone who was playing music with him off after some time.
Just read the Rolling Stone Interview...Billy's god-trip at his best.

I hate the way some fans kid themselves that the Pumpkins are 99% Billy. The other members gave the band an identity which is now completely gone. If it wasn't for James, Jimmy and D'arcy, Billy could have never developed the sound that has become so well known to this day. This is completely blatant by the fact that when Zeitgeist came out all the charm of the Pumpkins had completely evaporated. Billy is lacking the other members which is why his music has become so run-of-the-mill and shallow to say the least.

Chances are there will never be a reunion though...

Maybe without them the Pumpkins wouldn't developed the sound but just look at Siamese Dream. It's a masterpiece created mostly by Billy. Some of the best songs on Mellon Collie don't even feature anyone but Billy and Jimmy. James is useless on Here Is No Why and Tonight Tonight. If there was no James or D'Arcy we wouldn't have Mayonaise or Soma, or any of the James Iha songs that he recorded in his house, but the band wouldn't be that much different. He didn't even need the two of them for the live songs. He wrote mostly everything and it isn't that hard to play, so he could of hired any guitarist and bassist. Maybe Billy wasn't 99% of the Pumpkins but he was at least 90%.

and if i'm being honest if Zwan or TFE was released as SP i probably would have dismissed it as shit too. nothing since Machina has lived up to the name Smashing Pumpkins for me.

No one thought Jimmy would be back after Adore but guess what? He came back! D'Arcy's not up to it so she will never be back, and James... I actually think one day they will reconcile and go on tour together. If only in a dream..
