I give this song a generous 2

I really dislike this song. The name of it alone bothers me. The arrangement and production is uninspiring also.

im giving this a 9.5, 9 for the song and .5 for its versatility. if this had been a single they would have had a Heavy Metal Machine Mixes, just like 1979 and TEITBITE.

This song was definitely a grower, but definitely a favorite on the album now. The verse riff is sweet, and the chords for the chorus are great too.

For me, this song tampers with the flow of the album. It's just too much of a dirgy repetitious endeavor, that I think it drags the album down. This is one of the Machina songs that I think BC was crazy not to replace with something stronger like "Home" or even "White Spyder" would've worked better here than HMM.

Hidden beneath the muddy production, there is a good song in Heavy Metal Machine. I prefer it to any of the live or alternate versions.

This song is a master piece, it's a beautiful heavy metal song with dramatic guitar work and amazing drumming. It also transforms into a great live song too. The Smashing Pumpkins "Heavy Metal Machines (version 1)" get's an even 10 / 10. Sadly I don't like The Smashing Pumpkins "Heavy Metal Machines (White Rabbit Infused)," so I would give that version a 5 / 10.

Easily the best song on Machina and one of my favourite SP songs. Also, one of the SP songs that I feel strongest on a personal level.

Yeah, it's pretty excellent. Still a low key song though, that is overshadowed by other instant classics.

There are no instant classics on Machina. Actually, Stand Inside Your Love, that was the only instantly great song to my ears. All the others took a while to grow on me and none became as good as This Time

For me, and every other SP fan I know.. The Everlasting Gaze, Stand Inside Your Love and I of the Morning are perfect 10s.
Try, Try, Try rates 9 with most, but for me it's one of my favorites
