I was never really into this song that much, it never really grabbed my attention like some of the other songs on this album.

it did make the Pumpkins famous but it didn't turn me onto liking them.
I'll give it a 7.

9. Monstrous Fuzz and has one of my favorite lyrics: "Mutilate the meanings so they're easy to deny." I love the chorus and how at the end of the guitar solo the rhythm goes from 16 beats to 12. tripped me out the first time I realized it. I probably love it so much because I'm a fuzz/recording/song writing geek.

Today and 1979 ... the only two sp songs my friends with no taste in music allowed me to play. Yes it is overrated. And Jesus Christ has it been overplayed.
But I don't really take that into account when rating the song..

I'd agree that it's overplayed but it's certainly not overrated.

This is a definite 10 from me. Sure, its overplayed but it got me into the band in the first place and will always have a place in my heart.

When Siamese Dream was first released I didn't get it for a very long time because all I knew of it was Today and Disarm-- to me two of the weaker(although very marketable) songs on the album. I, years later, came to dearly love Siamese Dream-- but I largely skipped over Today and Disarm. Yes, a pivotal song -- yes, an important song -- yes, a song that led to amazing things. But still at best a 7 to me.

What a surprise to see Hummer join SP's set in 2007. A great song all but forgotten in the Adore and Machina tours returns to become a near staple. I was lucky enough to see it live in 2008 and it was definitely one of the highlights that night :billy
Personally, I think it's a great rock song and it's hard to imagine an SP fan disliking it. While not a song I tend to give CLASSIC status, it does come mighty close..
