Yeah, I paid a bunch for the silver version - I had to get someone in America to get it for me from Best Buy, so I had to pay that price, plus the cost for them to mail it to me, plus there was a charge for the money order I sent. Worth it though. Or at least I thought it was till now :p

Billy probably gets like a tenth of a penny for every copy of that sold. hahaha....how ridiculous.

It's definitely worth at least $5.00, I mean it comes with the Tarantula and That's the Way (My Love Is) videos.

Maybe it's because Enervegeist was only bought by old SP-fans and maybe half of them were rather pissed so few persons bought this SE only which eventually was even later released than all the other editions.
Tu sum it up, Schruuzgeist's marketing was the horror and one of the results is Best Buy not getting rid of the silver edition, even years after.

I think Zeitgeist (the song) sucked balls, but Stellar was upper medicore (which is good for a Diarrhögeist era song) and Ma Belle was just stunning and brilliant, like a rerecorded Siamese Outtake (and a good one, too).

I would agree "Ma Belle" was brilliant. It's easily the best song on Zeitgeist (besides Tarantula).

Way too much love for Ma Belle IMO. The song itself is good... and the guitar work. But the vocal style is pure pop and just as repulsive as the Teargarden vocals. Completely ruins it.

Thought I got a good deal on Silver Zeitgeist when I got it for 2 bucks new plus 3 dollars shipping.

I would say it is worth a little more than what they are charging for it, especially since it comes with extras.

So do you really hate Zeitgeist THAT much Don? (or do you just like coming up with nicknames for it?)

It's no Smashing Pumpkins album to me, just Jimmy and Billy doing some random hard rock.
Everytime I try sitting thru the whole thing, Bolly's loud goat and sheep sounds in the chorus of Bleeding The Orchid piss me of that much that I can't stand it any longer.
It's maybe the worst produced album I do own. And definitly the worst album in any band's discography of the band's I do listen to (maybe besides Porcupine Tree's The Incident *shiver*).
There are also some of the worst pseudo-hard rocks songs I have ever listened to (Starz, C'mon Let's Go - they all sound like Scorpions covered by any drunk random neo-emo band). And others feel like forced SP but fail (Doomsday Clock, That's The Way - gee I used to write songs like these when I was 16 years old and SP hardliner).
The only good thing about Sordidgeist is Jimmy's drumming which is, indeed, maybe the best drumming ever recorded, yet.
But yes, the nicks is one of my current hobbies :D

The Incident wasn't that bad :p And I about pissed my pants at Sordidgeist. I have to agree with you on most of those points (I do like Tarantula and That's The Way though) though. I've never listened to the whole thing all the way through. There were some songs at the last SP concert I went to that I didn't recognize that were off Zeitgeist. They sounded better at the concert than when I went home and looked them up. X_X

Well, sometimes when I listen to Zeitgeist, I try to tune BC out (which is fucking hard :upset ) and just listen to JC's drumming. When I do, it is a pretty damn good album.

I agree with you on most of what you said though, although I love That's The Way and don't mind Doomsday Clock. :)

Yes. They are currently dong guitar work on Oceania and I'm sure to this point it is a great album. If it's ruined, it will be with Billy's vocals. Even some of the TGBK carnival synths would be bearable if Billy's vocals were of the 1995 variety and not the SP2/3 pop style.

And this is promising to me (from Nicole's blog):
"The process for me was a very positive one because I felt totally supported and trusted. As far as writing bass lines, Billy gave me the reigns and I took full advantage of it! My goal was to put my stamp on this album without compromising the classic Pumpkins sound. I feel that because I was so supported I was able to take risks and have the confidence to follow through with ideas that wouldn't necessarily be the obvious choice. I think that I succeeded in what I set out to do which was to create a bass sound that is unique to me and also serves the album."
Input from someone other than just Billy can't hurt at this point.
