Album-wise it is SD.
By terms of lousy over-production it's the least enjoyable to me.
Songwriting-wise there is NO weak original SP album :)

Yup, I definitely agree. It's my least favourite by far; that's why I haven't returned to it much at all. Not that I didn't enjoy listening to it, and that there aren't a few really good songs on it.

Gish scores a solid 8 from me, whereas every other official album scores a perfect 10.

I wonder if they recorded Adore songs in the studio as they were performed live. You know with all that scattered piano and heavy guitars and drums minus the techno field. That would be so awesome to have an alternate version of Adore in it's entirety bundled with the reissue.

True that.

@Glass: You rated MCIS the same as Zeitgeist?!?! :notapprove

Mellon Collie is my absolute favourite Pumpkins album. Siamese Dream and Adore follow closesly behind, with Pisces Iscariot alongside them. MACHINA I behind those, but to be honest, I haven't paid the album much attention, and wouldn't like to rank it until I've heard it again a few more times. Gish would be behind those. I haven't listened to MACHINA II all the way through, and will probably just wait for the re-issue with both albums together. Apart from Mellon Collie and Siamese Dream though, I need to listen to the albums more than I have done.

I really don't care for any of the post-2000 stuff (except Zwan), and essentially never return to it, outside a couple of songs (United States is the only one that comes to mind, but I haven't listened to that for a while).

While I'd rather hear songs that I haven't heard before, this would be really cool. There are some songs I'd rather hear in this form than others, though (weren't some of the live performances still very close to their studio counterparts?).

Heard an alternate studio take of 'XYU' today we are going to mix for the MCIS re-issue. And also an earlier take we'll put out thru SPRC

Cool. Can't say I'm surprised given that he was talking a lot about XYU and it's original title 'SPUM' or whatever it was during the Lucky 13 interview a month ago.

Mixtapes keep them alive!
They don't work on discs/digital media because you always skip most of the songs then ;)
