My neighbor has a huge dog. It's not even a dog, that motherfucker is the size of a damn rhino. I'm talking if a T-Rex had rapid, unprotected sex with Clifford the Big Red Dog, the offspring would probably look like my neighbor's dog, which isn't even fully grown yet. A year from now that monster is going to be taking shits that are bigger than my HOUSE. But trust me, I would rather have to clean up that dog's crap for the rest of my life than hear this song one more time. If this was the Chris Isaack version then I wouldn't be saying this, but as it stands now:

1 point for this travesty, this blasphemy, this crime against everything humanity has ever stood for.

Haha, I don't think it's that bad, but that made me laugh all the same 8-)

The 20th Anniversary Tour version I rate 10 / 10, the Electric Version I rate 8 / 10, the Teargarden version I rate 6 out of ten. So I guess I have to give it a 8 / 10, it ain't Bury Me, Geek USA, Pissant, An Ode To No One, Set The Ray To Jerry, To Sheila, The Everlasting Gaze, Cash Car Star, United States, The Rose March but it's still a good song. If it had been recorded the way it was played on The 20th Anniversary Tour I would be giving it 10 / 10, it could have been the new 1979.
I don't mean to hurt anyone, I'm just speaking my personal opinion.

Sigh, I guess I'm the only one who thinks this is a ten.

You're obliged to pretend respect for people and institutions you think absurd. You live attached in a cowardly fashion to moral and social conventions you despise, condemn, and know lack all foundation. It is that permanent contradiction between your ideas and desires and all the dead formalities...

I love me some owata. It's A-Side Single Status to me. Pumpkins are just in a padded phase here, but I love every phase there is :)

Sorry, but what about the average of "Teargarden 2" in the list?

Re: RATE A SONG - OWATA 1 year 5 months ago #106575

I used to really hate the studio version of the song, but within the past month I've really warmed up to the song. It's a lot better Astral, Stitch, and Widow, and Billy offers some good vocals, even if the lyrics are a little cheesy. The solo is still awesome, so I can say confidently that this deserves a 10/10. Hate me now please :D

All you need to know is "shit." ;)

Nah, I think it's actually better than the first one.

I'll make sure I've got all the averages in order by the next song.

What do people want after this? Pre Gish stuff? Or should we rate Future Embrace or Mary Star?

I vote Pre Gish stuff for the simple reason that It's SP, other stuff is BC solo.

I also vote for pre-Gish! Although TheFutureEmbrace I wouldn't mind voting on either. I really don't give a rat's ass about Mary Star of the Sea...

Re: RATE A SONG - OWATA 1 year 5 months ago #106595

Which pre-Gish stuff are we doing? Does it include a bunch of live stuff that was never recorded in the studio?

I'd like to do TAFH, just because it's so good. But we'll get round to it all at some point, so I don't mind which we do next. Although, like Venison, I'm not too interested in doing MSotS as it'll probably just bug me to see other people rating such mediocre music too highly.
