Poets Of The Fall are an Alternative Rock Band from Finland, they are not very popular anywhere else mainly because they are not widely know outside of Finland because the Rock And Roll Industry is not as strong as it once was. I believe that if it was the 1990s they would be just as popular as Radiohead. Everyone I let listen to them are captivated. My family and friends are now fans of a band they will probably never get to see live. I'm going to review their first album, Signs Of Life.

Poets Of The Fall : Signs Of Life, is not an amateur album by any standards, it has many great singles and a lot of really great songs on it. But it doesn't flow perfectly and the production is pretty crude. Perhaps they should have found a more experienced producer than Markus Kaarlonen (Poets Of The Fall's Keyboardist). Marko's vocals are very earthy and powerful, and Olli Tukiainen guitar tones are very emotional and very layered with Electric Guitar and Acoustic Guitar bleeding and running into each other and that is what makes the album great.
The best songs are
Lift
Late Goodbye
Stay
Everything Fades
Illusion And Dream
Don't Mess With Me
Sleep

You keep mentioning this band, I think I'll check them out. Any ideas of who they sound like?

They sound a little bit like Stone Temple Pilots, and Nirvana mixed with the artisticness of Smashing Pumpkins.
Here are four of my favorite songs by them:

Late Goodbye (don't worry it picks up after 30 second and kick you in the ass)

Carnival Of Rust (what can I say it's just damn beautiful)

Locking Up The Sun (a good fast rocker that does not lack in guts)

Gravity (a kick ass rocker with a killer yet simple riff)
