Funny you should say that. I was thinking - if we didn't already know SP's songs or, looking at it another way, if we imagined an SP song was by some other band and none of us had heard it before - I don't think many SP songs would do all that well.

I like all of those, but they definitely wouldn't be what I'd introduce to someone who has never heard SP.

I just meant though, based on comments in previous Music Taste Championships, most fairly standard alternative rock songs get accused of being too simple, it's mostly 6 minute shoe-gaze/progressive songs that get all the votes. So most SP songs would struggle, I think, depending on what they happened to be drawn against.

I actually think Epitome's right. But even if Home was by Justin Bieber I'd still give it a 10/10.

The problem really is judging the songs usually off one (or not many) listens. I'm sure if I listened to them more, I'd like them more and maybe vote differently. It's rare to love a song from one listen, I think. Still, it's just a bit fun

I encourage thinking outside of the box with your choices. You don't have to pick modern alternative rock stuff...which is what most of it is. Be daring. Think different time periods and different genres. It makes this more interesting.

Well, it would, although unless the song you're drawn against is daring, it'll just mean you'll probably go out straight away
