Devics sounds like a Tarrentino film....which I dig. I get the vibe they're going for but it just kept plodding along for too long in the same spot. Future of the Left is a good one. Gonna have to check that band out.

Out of ten

Siren Song 6

Arming Eritrea 5

Yeah Devics does sound like Tarrantino. Even led me on a new mission to check out the Christmas movie. Dicaprio plays a sadist cool. And great to see Sam Jackson back for a small role. It ain't a QT film without some motherfucking Jackson.

Half of the second song was horrendous, half of it was good. Kind of short too.

The Devics' one reminds me of my favourite spaghetti western's OST :D :

Going with Future Of The Left, this is an interesting fusion of noise rock, post-hc and modern rock.

This is hard as they were both unique and I enjoyed them both but I'm going with Future of the Left as I enjoyed that one slightly more.

The Devics song reminds me of a car commercial.

"Yes, I am a hip, young urban professional who will buy an Acura and cruise down the streets while listening to this song!" :D

I can't believe a heavy song is winning on here. And not just winning but winning by a long way :o

Sort of liked the laid back vibe of the first song. Admittedly, I'm not usually into those sorts of vocals, but it kind of worked here with the Devics song. As for the second song by Future of the Left, the only part I really liked was the music for the chorus, the rest wasn't really my style, but I'm always willing to give something a chance. Kind of liked the drumming though. I don't know. Anyways, I'm gonna go with the Devics song.

7 - 3 win for Future of the Left. The winners' bracket is down to 2. Up next, we do another round of eliminations.

Maybe people just liked the Future of The Left song a bit more than the Devics one, whether by a little or a lot. I didn't personally choose it but I could see where someone who might not like harder songs as much as others might still choose it over another song because they just don't like the other song as much.

Think we have enough pop punk fans to pull something like this off if Offspring/Green Day/Rancid were in the competition? ;)

Not that I would ever put one of their songs in, despite my liking for them, I'm pretty sure that would just be ASKING to lose, haha!

Well if you put Rancid or pre-2000 Green Day I'd probably vote for it. As for Offspring...are they still around? ;)

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they'd lose. But then I didn't expect that heavy song in this round to get so many votes, so I guess there's always a chance, depending what it comes up against.

Alright, don't go dissing Offspring, not cool! :p

Offspring has had two decent - good records in the last 12 years, but I still like em! What's your favorite GD album Venison?

@Epitome: I triple-dog dare you to submit an Offspring song (off of Splinter) in the MTC! :sillyhat
