Wasn't overly impressed with either but I'll pick the foreign films.

Both the Pulp and The Foreign Films songs had interesting sounds. But I felt The Foreign Films song was a bit more dynamic than the Pulp one. I kind of liked the bridge or whatever it was in the middle of the Pulp song but overall I liked The Foreign Films one more.

Gotta go with Pulp. This Is Hardcore war released right as Britpop was dying and it always impressed me more than Oasis 1997 album. The Foreign Films singer reminds me a bit of Thom Yorke.

It's a choice between the weird and the generic, and I'm going weird (Pulp).

Hm, you found Pulp weird? I suppose it is one of their weirder songs on one of their weirder albums. The cinematography on the Pulp video was really good though. Wish all music videos had that kinda production budget. It makes it feel like a mini-movie.

To be honest, I had to stop watching that clip halfway through because I felt it was interfering with the music.

As in it was too weird for you or too distracting from the music?

The video was distracting from the music. The whole thing was weird though.

I never knew Pulp before and liked their song. It was well-written.

I also liked the foreign films but it wasn't that good.

Ouch, looks like we might have another far and away victory.

I figured it was only a matter of time before my time in the competition was over considering I don't think I had any outright wins. My first win was 2nd out of 3, and the second win was a tiebreaker. I was originally going to go with The Foreign Films as the second one because I figured most people hadn't heard it before, but I guess my second guessing saved me temporarily lol.

Good run Eye, although I voted for Pulp, I quite enjoyed the Foreign Films.

Thanks man. I never made the connection between Bill's voice (the lead singer of The Foreign Films) and Thom Yorke, but I suppose there is a little bit of it in there. If you want to hear an artist that has a real Thom Yorke-esque voice, check out Drew Smith. He is also from Hamilton, Ontario like The Foreign Films is. I decided against posting a song from him because I figured people would say 'sounds like they are trying to be like Radiohead' and then they would vote against them because of that :p.

Last Edit: 11 months 2 weeks ago by Eye.

I know. On a side note, I seem to recall him being influence by both Radiohead and SP. His band used to be called Wallowstarr. Then they changed to Field Guide To Words and Music (what a mouthful) and then for whatever reason he decided to release the album they recorded together under his own name.
