I gave the Rancid one a go first. I wasn't feeling it, not really my style and Rancid in general has never been my style, but I didn't have any strong feelings one way or the other. The Muse song is probably not in my top 10 Muse songs or anything, but I still think it's a good song. Not the best Muse song, but good. Anyways, I'm gonna go with that one.

Never really got the Muse/Radiohead comparison. There may be a slight resemblance of the voice but I have heard vocalists that are a lot more close to Thom Yorke than Matthew Bellamy. Is it the political slant of some of the songs and that their British? :p.

Come on, the resemblance is a little bit more than slight don't you think? Especially on Absolution.

Well, I was almost proven wrong. Rancid almost won, haha!

So I was proven right ;) It was closer than I expected, but probably because not many people voted. I think pretty much any extra votes would've gone Muse's way.

I suppose there are moments that they sound similar but like I said, I've heard vocalists that are closer to Thom Yorke than Matthew Bellamy. When I first heard Muse I didn't think about Radiohead at all. For awhile I resisted even really giving them a chance because there were so many people saying how they sounded exactly like SP or that they were heavily influenced by them and I didn't want to jump on some bandwagon. The same thing had been said about Silversun Pickups. Another band that I took awhile to warm up to and really give a chance. You can see some influences there but they are both their own bands compared to SP and Radiohead.

I did end up liking both those bands in the end though.

I wonder who voted Rancid in? ;)
Kudos to them testing our theory. Now if they voted Splinter era Offspring, they definitely would've won. :p

@Eye - I've never really checked out SSPU more than a few songs, I've been meaning to check out their new album.

I think the new album is pretty good but I think I might like the first two better but I haven't listened to it that much, between that, Metric's Synthetica, Garbage's Not Your Kind of People, and SP's Oceania, I have a full plate for music right now haha. It's a bit 'darker' sounding than their previous efforts. It's the kind if music that you might listen to on a night drive, arcane night music sort of like how Adore was, but in a different way, since it's not heavy on electronic elements.
