These are always tricky.

Well, here's my list... or a list, by me. It's pretty changeable.

1. Porcupine Tree / Steven Wilson
2. The Future Sound of London
3. Green Day
4. Isis
5. Kurbeats / Yggdrasil
6. Amen
7. The Cure
8. Minsk
9. Gary Numan
10. Triptykon

If you don't like me having Steven Wilson and Porcupine Tree as one place, then leave PT top and more SW to the bottom. Kurbeats and Yggdrasil are the same entity, they just changed their name.

If you can choose just a selection of years for a band then SP would be high up my list for the sames years that Don specified :)

01. The Smashing Pumpkins
02. blink-182
03. Brand New
04. Bob Dylan
05. Taking Back Sunday
06. Jimmy Eat World
07. Death Cab for Cutie
08. Led Zeppelin
09. +44
10. Angels & Airwaves

Please note two things:
01. The Beatles will always hold a special place in my heart, and is really the end all be all for everything on my list.
02. The order doesn't necessarily mean anything to me. I feel like any other day the order of these bands would be completely different.

I know it's all in the ear of the beholder 8-) but I gotta disagree with your selection of The Cure's best years :)

Fair enough, their first album after 1992 was Wild Mood Swings and it is very hit and miss (although I wouldn't say it was their worst). But I think after that is probably their strongest chain of albums - Bloodflowers, The Cure and 4:13 Dream are all excellent - plus we're finally due to get the full double album version of 4:13 Dream this year (hopefully).

Their worst album, in my opinion, was their first one in 1979 (slightly different versions for the US and UK, but I don't think it matters) and, whilst I enjoy them, I think The Top and Head on the Door would be low down my Cure album rankings.

Anyway, just thought I'd throw that out there :)

Great work to everyone submitting. I don't know that I need to hear the band, but it pleasant enough to read the phrase 'babes in toyland' for some reason :D

Regarding SP, their best albums were obviously somewhere between SD / MCIS / Adore. But I hold the 2007 - 2008 era is the highest regard for live performance. I think around the Teargarden era things gotta little on the friendly side, but in no way has it diminished my love of SP. I'm not saying it won't happen, but I see the band's run as continuous - and also - I don't include either Zwan or BC solo era in that timespace. I see those as very separate things.

I'm looking forward to hearing the concert BC is performing at the end of the month. Sounds like there will be a hugely unconventional songlist. A lot of work has gone into it, and I'm thrilled. I'm also pumped for their next two album releases. Still a pumpkins fan in me.

4. Cranberries - MMH

- I like the Cranberries. They never got heavy enough for me to really get into them, but they have a tonne of great songs.

Here´s an Babes in Toyland Album. Does someone knows the Sonic Youth Video "1991-The year punk broke", on tour with Nirvana, Babes in Toyland and more, short before the grunge boom.

Oh and in the pumpkins "viewphoria" Video some fan in an interview wears an Babes in Toyland T-shirt. :)

I know Babes In Toyland from that very Sonic Youth VHS :)
They're criminally underrated.
