And to top it off, they beat their bitter in state rival Saturday night to get to the national championship game. I understand the significance of all that. Lexington is where all that happened. There's a high likelihood they're going to win the national championship tonight, so who knows what's going to happen this time around. I'm going down there to see it first hand, whatever happens.

Well Kansas definitely deserved to lose. Although it didn't help either that UK has some cross-species, unibrow 6'10" weirdo who blocks all the other team's shots and yet only scores on free throws

I thought between the yearly burnings and number of rage stories that the way Kentucky fans take basketball was fairly well known. Or maybe it's just because I live about 30 miles south of Lexington where the majority of this shit takes place. I didn't know that I had fellow Kentuckians on the board, so it's great to hear that, however on the topic of basketball. Trust me, stay the hell away from it and you'll be fine, but if you don't the whole state will just suck you in and turn you into one of those fans you used to despise. People here go insane over this stuff. I'm sure you've heard a couple of stories about older men (60-70 years old) fighting because of a simple comment about the Kentucky team. The stockpiling of couches just to burn them when Kentucky wins or loses. It just goes on and on.

Here's something different too. The day of the Louisville/UK game my team and I were supposed to go to UofL to play an academic team tournament. We didn't get to go because they shut down roads around the campus because of the game. Remember the game itself is in New Orleans, but they're shutting shit down across the country in fear of what could happen between the fires and countless drunks. That's how fucking serious this damn sport is here. I admit I enjoy watching it and support my team, but I'm nowhere near other people here. If you have a death wish, badmouth a team and you'll get your wish. Well unless your calling the team ugly

As for the Davis, he's called the uniblocker for a reason. Best part of the game was probably his blocks because that was just a piss poor game from both sides.

Small world, musicman. I live up in Georgetown, but work in Lexington. Who knew we were that close? ha!

I am just now getting back to a state of recovery and into my normal routine. Monday night was nuts, and I was hungover most of the day yesterday. The cops did a WAY better job of dealing with it. Saturday taught them a lesson on how to prevent things from getting out of control. No major incidents happened Monday, and they said there were between 20,000 and 30,000 people in the streets partying. It was awesome because there were no strangers out there. We were all UK fans and therefore brothers and sisters. Everybody was just elated and having a great time.

I've lived in KY my whole life and was raised in a UK family. We aren't insane like the guys who got into a fist fight in the dialysis clinic last week...or the ones who burned a car Saturday night....but we are all very passionate about UK basketball. So this is as good as it gets for me. This team was truly special. A real joy to watch. As for the comment about Davis only being able to score on free throws? Might have been the case Monday, but was definitely not the case all year. That kid is the most well rounded basketball player I've ever seen and he's only 19. It's scary how good he can become.

The sun was a little brighter in Lexington yesterday and everybody had an extra spring in their step. Good stuff.

A lot of people on this site have lived really close to eachother. Dream and I both lived in the same city before I moved, and Taurean lives like 30 minutes from where I used to!
