I'm not really listening to it anymore, but that's the way it goes with any albums I get these days. I usually listen to them quite a bit for a few weeks, then file them away on the shelf. Otherwise I'd never have time to listen to all the new albums I keep getting...
My feelings/thoughts exactly. I can't listen to the same album for a crazily extended period of time or I'll be completely bored with it. With all the new music I get though, and the way I listen, I always have music to listen to and everything stays relatively fresh!
Don, do you still like the album a lot or has it fallen slightly out of favor for you?
@Blue: Ya gotta listen to it Blue! Possibly BC's best since Adore.
So...
Zwan - MSotS vs. SP - Oceania
Which do you guys think is the better album?
I just listened to a few selected tracks lately and they still felt OK, so maybe I should get on the entire album again...but then again I have the vision of the big popness in which I might drown while doing so

.
Yes, it seems like Oceania seems to suffer the SD overproduction syndrome for me after the early hysteria.
And don't get me wrong, I still appreciate Oceania for what it is, proudly wearing my Oceania shirt today - it was an important step for SP and definitly is no Zeitgeist (and even that was a necessary album because every band had it's Zeitgeist, no matter if you look at Porcupine Tree's The Incident, Sonic Youth's Goo or Kiss' Unmasked).
But I can honestly say that Oceania beats MSotS by a mile.
Mary Star hardly features
any good songs and is the result of ZWAN recording their 14 worst tracks instead of such BC milestones like Friends & Lovers and Freedom Ain't What It Used To Be.
Yeah, I can sort of agree with the overproduction bit, although I think it often works in the albums favor. Do you prefer SD production to Oceania production Don?
@Epitome: Some have shown some serious love for the Zwan album on these forum, so yes, it's a somewhat serious question.
On a different note, I've never figured out why people spend money in gift shops. All they have are useless knick-knacks that you don't need. I don't understand the concept of souvenirs unless you're going to someplace REALLY cool. (Like getting an SP shirt at a concert or something.

) But yeah, I don't get gift shops and I don't get why people like overpriced souvenirs and knick-knacks.
If I'm going to Disney world, do I really need to spend and extra $25-$30 on a Donald Duck coffee cup? Aren't the hundreds of pictures people take enough of a souvenir?
Does anyone get it? If someone here understands tourist reasoning, explain it to me please. :_
UGH. I have a friend that everywhere she goes, she brings me back something stupid from there. A shot glass with a heart on the bottom that has the name of some obscure buttfuck town written on it. I know she was thinking of me, but seriously what am I going to do with this? It's not like it's something that says "I Heart NY" (even THAT is a waste) but it's literally "Buttfuck, Washington" with a dolphin on it.
Once I got a wine glass with a poem on it and it had hearts with wings on it. I shit you not.
Besides, is anyone ever going to use said Donald Duck coffee cop? How much you wanna bet it's going to sit at the back of the shelf for ten years until someone discovers it and then when they go to take it out, it slips and breaks.
You hella got your money's worth.
