Post bands/artists, or songs that you have discovered very recently and you like plus how you came across it (ie friend, relative, tv)
...and then, make a different recomendation of something that youve know about for a bit longer, for the rest of pumpkins.net that you think they might not know about or might not have gotten into!

Ruby's recent additions (thanks to my Mum, who's living with me at the mo!)

Chicago (60's,70's,80's rock...the first rock band to feature a horn section as an intergrated lead instrument!!!!)

Kanye West (listen to touch the sky without the filmclip, its pretty fucking good...his stuff has alot of gospel elements)

Im pretty impressed with these two, and my other recomendation- Neil Young/Crazy Horse...i cant EVER get enough of this guy...a classic example of a guy thats been doing his own thing (still does) since the 60's.
for a good start the 'Live Rust' live album is awsome, one, its live and two, it was at a great time, they had plenty of hits to play but it still has that 70's feel.

Song recomendations in particular..'Needle and the damage done'....'I am a child' and 'Cortez the killer'...oh and 'Hey hey, my my'

*fly my pretties! FLY!!!* :heart

yeah i like alot of massive attack...i still remember that filmclip with the foetus...that was pretty cool. and i like him in that like the guys from basement jaxx (whom i adore) he uses lots of different female vocalists, so the variety just from the difference that a different voice can bring is awsome.

do u like aphex twin stumb? i think you would although hes very experimental and somewhat freaky...i saw him live at a big day out a few years back and he was mindblowing....and his clips are really scary too. try windowlicker and come to daddy

i know dougy would hunt me down and kill me for saying this but... i dont mind peaches. she plays all of the "instruments" in her songs, and theyre quite catchy. its like the opposite of the smashing pumpkins, though its a nice (and very sexy<<hahahahahahah) change. does anyone else like her?
i think ill be safe from him for a few weeks. hes supposed to be on holidays. :D

yah yah! :D i got my alternative music shop to order it in for me. i wish she had put the lyrics in there. that butt sex picture is a little disturbing. i opened it up looking for lyrics to hum along to, but my poor little eyes were soiled instead :D hahahahahaha
my favorites of teaches of peaches are fuck the pain away and aa xxx.

have you heard downtown? i love her voice in it! im thinking of getting impeach my bush. ill have to download some songs off there to see if its worth it.

i just heard aphex twin. i loved windowlicker, techno tetris and the drum and bass techno. its making me want to evolve my rave attemps into something more professional. hahahah

impeach my bush is supposed to be great although i only have fatherfucker and teaches of peaches. and theres another one but its credited to her actual name before she started to roll with the peaches thing...

have u seen the clip for windowlicker? and the second half of the clip for come to daddy is pretty freaky haha. its hard to get a sense of the music while your watching the clip sometimes as well.
hes a bit of a prick tho from what ive read...just in interviews. but then maybe im biased cos he said he wouldnt tour with radiohead cos he didnt like them,,,theyve cited him as a huge influence lol

for a while it was flooded with newbies- i didnt like that, but that was better than what it is now.

its of my neck! my friend was taking random pictures all over the place and took this one. i like it- it looks kind of frosted.

there's a pretty cool band here in Atlanta called Pig Hut. myspace.com/pighutband
the there's a crappy song on there called Echo, and a pretty lame music video, but they're cool other than that... mostly

you might have heard of The Music. They have a few singles but they aren't really that good. Most of their good stuff is on the last halves of both their cd's

I'm a big (hed)P.E. fan, one of the few rap metal (but not shitty Nu Metal) bands I actually like. They're awesome...EVERYTHING off Broke is great, as is a lot of the more mainstream Blackout.

I'm really into the whole goth/industrial/EBM scene, anyone else into that? Bands like VNV Nation, Combichrist, Imperative Reaction, And One, Velvet Acid Christ, all that sorta stuff...anyone? Or more Cure/Joy Division stuff (I bet that's far more popular)...?

The Constantines are a good band. They're on Sub Pop. It's kind of hard to find the CD's, but they're on iTunes.
