Yeah, what the heck is Daniel Johns thinking these days? He looks like an absolute douchebag now, haha. And "Young Modern" was pretty atrocious.
He wears those leather vests now. I don't quite understand it. I kinda liked Young Modern. And the Dissociatives.

Probably either, Nirvana, Jane's Addiction or Silversun Pickups. Out of those thoguh I'd go for SIlversun Pickups cus they are still around, & I saw them live & was very impressed!

Yeah. I stopped listening to them after By The Way. I haven't heard it, but most people have told me that Stadium Arcadium is just a one disc album mixed in with a whole bunch of average b-sides.

Your friends are all too right, RJK. Two discs was excessive, especially since so many of the tracks are interchangable.

RHCP's best album was Californication anyway.

i must admit though, can't stop is catchy, except the end when anthony keidis is singing by himself without background instruments.......uggghhh. its good in zero but that was awful

stadium arcadium is horrible. its got about three songs that could be popular and then just crap. they could have made that album into a five track EP

Also, according to Jay from Triple J, Keides uses an auto-tuner for his voice. He remembered hearing a show that Triple J had recorded, but Keides' vocals went straight to the recording before it went to the auto-tuner, and yeah, well, you get the point.

Chili Peppers have had only 2 good albums IMO. Its obvious what those albums are as well...

They are an ordinary band to be honest. I've seen them live twice & they sucked both times. In short, they've past their time.

Sorry I'll sound like a dumbass here, but by auto tuner do you mean that it alters his vocals so they go in tune?

Yes, your exactly right. I think you can get programs that do it as well.

This little news clip has the classic Jordan/Katie Price example.

as far as that era goes, Janes Addiction shit all over chilli peppers. flea even said at one point that he loved eric averys bass in three days (and the general repetitive melodic bass lines of janes) and it influenced alot of guitar he wrote...

Pumpkins
Alice In Chains
Radiohead
Nirvana
Pearl Jam
Stone Temple Pilots
Soundgarden
GNR
Blur
REM
Pulp
Therapy? (well for one album)

Got in to all those at the time, since have heard Violent Femmes (clever acoustic stuff) and got in to QOTSA when the released songs for the deaf.

Edit- how could I forget The Prodigy and Underworld

Wow. I'm surprised no one mentioned The Wallflowers.
One of the greatest bands in my opinion.
Not to mention how devilishly attractive Jakob Dylan is.

I SO used to want to have Jakob Dylan's babies. :) As for the band, "Bringing Down the Horse" was a delightful listen, but nothing historic.

I'm still in love with The Wallflowers (and obviously Jakob Dylan) but I'm pissed off that they canceled their show here in SF-with no reason.
