49. Dropkick Murphys – The Meanest of Times
50. Britney Spears – Blackout

What RS said about Zeitgeist:
Billy Corgan and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin, the only original members in this resurrection, make an art-pop roar worthy of the Pumpkins crown. Corgan piles on guitar overdubs with philharmonic zeal and Siamese Dream-era smarts on searing songs about the suffocating chaos of life and politics in America.

How does this compare with your top (5) albums of 2007?

Mine would be:
1. Nine Inch Nails - Year Zero
2. John Mayer - Continuum
3. Smashing Pumpkins - Zeitgeist
4. Foo Fighters - Echo, Silence, Patience & Grace
5. Led Zeppelin - Mothership

Looks like Shiny Toy Guns are working on some new material. Maybe they'll make the list in 2008 with this little number.

Re:Top Albums of 2007 5 years 4 months ago #36126

does seem strange how they compare so many different genres together. Back when alt rock and grunge dominated, zeitgeist prob would have done better. today's music sucks, period.

Coming below that would be humiliating on any list

Actually - Shiny Toy Guns are nominated for a Grammy this year, which is a little better than being on this list if you ask me.
