you ever feel like listening to sad songs, but you dont know any? I think it would be sweet if we had a thread in which people just posted links to various sad songs, lol.

The new Bloc Party song off the Flux EP, "Emma Kates Accident," is sad sounding. Its really beautiful though, especially how it gently fades off at the end.

oh man, i'm totally a sucker for sad music!

Blank Page, Crestfallen, Soothe, and Mayonaise from our beloved pumpkins.
The Lengths - The Black Keys
Things Aint Like They Used to Be - The Black Keys
Hallelujah - either the Brandi Carlile or Jeff Buckley version
Butterfly - Weezer
O Girlfriend - Weezer
Creation Lake - Silversun Pickups (this is more bittersweet)

now that i think about it, a lot of sad songs depend on what you've experienced and your mindset. Like rivers cuomo's "Crazy One" and "I was made for you" aren't really sad persay, but they still make me feel bad. Which in turns makes me happy.

Leaving Hope - Nine Inch Nails
Vaka - Sigur Rós

*Straylight Run - Buttoned Down
Every passing moment is a chance to turn it all around.

I recently made a playlist of depressingly miserable songs. Not sad as in "woe is me" sad, but sad as in "LIVING MAKES ME SO SICK I WISH I'D DIE" sad.

"The Patient" - Tool - Lateralus
"Don't Leave Me Now" - Pink Floyd - The Wall
"L.A. Blues" - The Stooges - Fun House
"Milk It" - Nirvana - In Utero
"Soma" - SP - SD
"Careering" - Public Image - Second Edition
"The Downward Spiral" - Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral
"The Trial" - Pink Floyd - The Wall
"Tunic (Song for Karen)" - Sonic Youth - Goo
"Fire Coming Out of the Monkey's Head" - Gorillaz - Demon Days
"Life in a Glass House" - Radiohead - Amnesiac
"No More Sorry" - My Bloody Valentine - Isn't Anything
"Black Sabbath" - Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath
"Tourniquet" - Marilyn Manson - Antichrist Superstar
"Soot and Stars" - SP - Judas O
"Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" - Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin
"Latin Simone (¿Qué Pasa Contingo?) " - Gorillaz - Gorillaz
"Fell on Black Days" - Soundgarden - Superunknown
"Aerials" - System of a Down - Toxicity

Dance, Billy, dance.

Just Tell Me by Sierra Swan always makes me really sad :(
Medellia by the pumpkins too..
Alot of other ones, too, but Wish You Were Here has got to be the saddest song ever. I think alot of the stuff off the Wall is sad too, but it's more from a crazy person's point of view. Wish You Were Here is more genuine I think.

That kind of sadness reminds me of For Martha, but I think For Martha is sadder.

"Love is drunk all the time"
