Dropkick Murphys - Live on St. Patrick's Day

I got their new live album yesterday too, so that will be going on later

I am listening to the "Through the devil softly" album by Hope Sandoval...Always dark and hypnotic with her psychedelic voice against a hypnotic backround of acoustics and cellos here and there.

Listening to "Through the devil Doftly" by Hope Sandoval.....Nothing new or grounbreaking on this record that came out last year.....but comforting in that familar style and angelic hypnotic voice against a backdrop of hypnotic acoustics and cellos.

Does anyone else listen to Sonic Youth? I just bought Bad Moon Rising. It's really a crazy album.

Ive been hooked on the album "Declaration of Dependence" by Kings of Convenience for some time now

I love Sonic Youth! You can't go wrong with any of their albums (maybe except soapy "Goo").
Bad Moon Rising is a stunning dark noise journey and you should listen to this at late at night...

Yeah, I love Sonic Youth. I have Dirty and NYC Ghosts and Flowers. How is Daydream Nation? It got amazing reviews but I didn't seem to like the few songs I heard off it as much as some of their other stuff.

i like Daydream Nation, especially Silver Rocket.

I'm so glad Sonic Youth came up (my 2nd favorite band ) because I've been dying to post this


Anyway, I know what you mean Ryon about Daydream Nation, it didn't blow me away like their other albums but just give it a while, it'll grow on you.

And yeah, Bad Moon Rising is crazy! Especially Death Valley '69, I always thought it was like some deranged serial killer anthem

Also listen to the Ciccone Youth song "macbeth"!

I only have a couple of their albums, but Daydream Nation seems to be their most accessible. It's great noisy pop. However, since the rest of their albums are more avant-garde I can see how it would seem like the odd album of the bunch.

When I listened to Daydream Nation first, I was a bit bored, but it grew on me, it's genious...a more accessable alternate is "Sister" in my opinion.
My first album was "A Thousand Leaves", the most avangarde besides "Confusion is Sex" "Bad Moon Rising" and "NYC Ghosts & Flowers" I think.
I also love the rocky side of them..."Sonic Nurse" e.g....
And "Washing Machine" is god, of course !!!

I feel like my favorite SY song is Death Valley '69 because it feels like it bleeds sex. All of this SY talk has makes me wanna go to my local record store and buy some more!
