It's a pretty good show. If you get a chance to see devo you should go I think they are on tour right now.

My first show was my parents taking me to see Roxy Music in Toronto when I was 3. Or 5? Let's say 4.
Now I'm 37 so I've gone to a lot of shows.
I have seen SP and Zwan and Billy and Jimmy each solo, Radiohead, My Chemical Romance, Duran Duran, Beck, Julian Lennon, Depeche Mode, Sigur Ros, Secret Machines, David Sylvian, Cocteau Twins, Klaxons, Kevin Spacey (performing Bobby Darin songs, awesome), Hanson, Sebadoh & Lou Barlow solo, Mary Timony, Mew, Ministry, Skinny Puppy, Faith No More, Pearl Jam, Metallica, Mogwai, Devendra Banhart, Chris Isaak, Franz Ferdinand, Grizzly Bear, The Sea and Cake, The Faint, Scissor Sisters, The Shins, and lots of others I am forgetting right now.
I also like to go to festivals, if they're not too pricey, so I can see a bunch of bands at one go. Dealing w/bands I'd rather not see are worth the chance to see some bands I'd probably never see otherwise.

I cant remember all the ones I've been to, alot of them were pretty unknown. Actually, I will be going to my first smashing pumpkins concert next month. Because I'm only 15, I didn't start getting into them until after they broke up. But now I'm seeing them at Red Rocks
Speaking of red rocks, 3 days after the Smashing Pumpkins play there (which is the show I'm going to) The Cure was playing there. Unfortunatly, since the two dates were so close together I could ony pick one to go to because concerts can obviously be alot of money. So sadly, I will miss the cure.

Anyway I went to see Gin Blossoms, Berlin, and The Goo Goo Dolls. Theres been others but those were all the best

I've hardly seen any live, what with being young, living in England and loving mostly American bands...

Nine Inch Nails
Roger Waters

And by tonight I'll have seen NIN again, the Pumpkins (:D), and anyone else I see at Reading today...

Green Day, Grand Rapids, MI, 5/7/05- Ok, ok, I know, but I was 11...

Pearl Jam, Grand Rapids, MI, 5/19/06- Probably the most amazing show I'll ever have the chance to see.

Aside from the dozens and dozens of local bands I've seen:

Billy Corgan
Ben Folds
RHCP
Live 8 London (inc. last ever Pink Floyd, and a hell of a lot of other bands)
Download 2006 Saturday - (Metallica, Korn+guest singers, Alice In Chains, and a fair few others)
NIN x2 (in the same week - most amazing setlists you've ever seen)

And many more I'm sure.

I WILL be seeing SP multiple times as soon as they announce the UK leg of the tour.

Oh, and I intend to see John Butler Trio next month.

Oh man, if I even ATTEMPTED to list all the bands I've seen, it would be in the thousands. (Yeah, I go to a buttload of shows. L.A. has kickass venues.) So I guess the most significant ones would be ...

Smashing Pumpkins 2x
Zwan 6X
Jimmy Chamberlin complex
APC (with James)
Weezer 8x
Veruca Salt 3x (not the original lineup though, just with Louise Post)
Green Day 2x
Warped Tour 4x (the one yesterday was the best! Flogging Molly's pit kicked my ass. Bad Religion, Starting Line, Tiger Army, whooooo.)
Pearl Jam
DAVID FREAKING BOWIE on my 21st birthday
Alkaline Trio
MUSE 2x
Bjork
The Pixies
Radiohead
Beck 4x
My Chemical Romance 2x
No Doubt 2x
Audioslave
Rage
The Decemberists 2x
Death Cab
Bright Eyes
Le Tigre 3x
RHCP
Beastie Boys
Dashboard Confessional
Something Corporate/Jack's Mannequin 10+ times
New Found Glory
Arcade Fire

and Hootie and the Blowfish. WHOOOOOO. (And oodles more at festivals and whathaveyou.)

My first concert was Sheryl Crow at age 13. Wheeeee.
Every passing moment is a chance to turn it all around.

So I saw the Pumpkins for the first time yesterday, at Reading...they were brilliant. The highlights for me were United States, Zero and Tonight, Tonight. Billy didn't look too pleased when the crowd started singing "Despite all my rage..." during the part of Bullet... when everyone was meant to stay silent...although then he just laughed and said "That wasn't too bad...let's try it properly now", and then sung it himself. Some girl took her top off when she appeared on the screen...Billy said something and followed with "I'm only joking...we all know American girls are sluts too". Heheh... They finished the show with Cherub Rock, which was great, and my only complaint was that they didn't play Disarm...but oh well.

I saw Devendra Banhart earlier in one of the tent stages...he was pretty weird but because the music was so different, it was really good. He even asked if anyone in the audience had written a song recently, and then he got two people up to perform their song (that was still good...Devendra's drummer joined in with them).

I saw bits of Billy Talent, The Used, Funeral for a Friend and the Lostprophets; they were all okay, but not really anything special. The highlight of the day for me was Nine Inch Nails, they were absolutely f***ing awesome...just when you thought they couldn't get any louder, they did. The setlist was perfect, finishing with Hurt.

So, plenty of people I would rather not have seen, maniacs wearing Borat's swimming costume, and guys in Mexican hats screaming in people's faces aside, the day was great...

P.S. Sorry to bore you with my "review" of the day...

In no particular order

Reading Festival 94 (RHCP, Cypress Hill, Hole, Manic St Preachers Radiohead...)
Metallica x 2
RHCP
U2
REM
Bodycount (Ice T's Metal band for those old enough to remember "cop killer")
Oasis

Plus loads of pub bands and tribute bands.

HAHA! No I thought it was really good review! (better than other ones *cough
Chronicle cough*) Some girl took her top off?! My friend dared me to throw my bra on stage at one of the nights at The Fillmore, but there were big bouncer dudes everywhere, so I chickened out.

Heheh...she actually did it twice. She was sitting on her boyfriend (or whoever)'s shoulders, and when she tried to do it another time, he put his hand up and grabbed her top so she couldn't...

A couple of nights ago I went and saw an arising local band (the members I know through friends), called "The Lonely H". They were so freaking amazingly awesome. Refined, talented, original, and amazing. I am sure many of you can say this about the music you like yourselves, but for a band just now arising in local fame, they are truly amazing. They come from a little Northwest town I used to live in called Port Angeles, and most of the member just now graduated high school. But, despite these two facts, they sound mature and well oiled. I highly recomend going to see them if you get a chance. My ticket was only $7, and well worth it! They just got back from their U.S. tour, and so the concert I went to was their homecoming one in Port Angeles.
