So, I didn't see a thread for them already, so I decided to make one. Let's talk about everything Radiohead.

So do you guys have a favorite Radiohead song and album? For me it has to be:

Favorite Song: There There

Favorite Album: OK Computer

Hopefully Radiohead release the new album in early 2011. I want more Radiohead!

(on a side note, I believe Billy has said that he enjoys listening to Radioheads music right? :billy )

I got their first 4 albums. Don't like them very much.

Kid A is interesting and my favorite from them. I really don't like OK Computer at all, not a single song on there speaks to me.

Oh and favorite song is, hmm... In Limbo. I love that guitar line.

OK Computer is one of the absolute finest albums of the 90's, and is up there for an "all time" award as well.

Have you guys heard the "01 and 10" album theory? I guess Thom et al dropped a bunch of hints about OK Computer and In Rainbows and the number 10 and a bunch of super-fans went geek-crazy and tried to paste together the two albums to make "01 and 10". You basically play the first five tracks of OK Computer interleaved with the first five tracks from In Rainbows and then put a 10 second crossfade between each track. The songs are supposed to line up and overlap in very weird ways. Haven't tried it yet (and it sounds like fans are still tweaking the formula), but it sounds like it'd be interesting.

That sounds interesting.

My favorite albums are Hail To The Thief, Amnesiac, and In Rainbows. I like their music, but they are not one of those bands that really ever had a super big emotional hold over me.

i'm not much for Pablo Honey, but beyond that i really like Radiohead. they are one of my favorite bands. my favorite albums are Kid A and Hail to the Thief. i listen to those two a lot. and i really like Thom Yorke's solo album The Eraser too.

i don't know what my favorite songs are. i like a bunch. pretty much all of Kid A and Hail To the Thief would be on my favorite song list so i won't list all of those because it would be about every song. beyond that i like 15 Step, Morning Bell/ Amnesiac, Paranoid Android, Talk Show Host, Paperbag Writer, Where Bluebirds Fly, and Harrowdown Hill, And It Rained All Night from The Eraser.

So far the only Radiohead I've listened to much is Kid A, and I really enjoy it. My favorite song from it would have to be Idioteque.
What if what is isn't true? What are you gonna do?

Eh. I like Radiohead, but only to an extent that there's about 30 or so songs that I actually actively listen to (with the exception of Kid A, which I will listen to in it's entirety every so often).

Favorite Album: In Rainbows

Favorite songs: Subterranean Homesick Alien, House of Cards, Blow Out, Kid A

Woohoo, Radiohead thread!

Radiohead was one of the first ever bands I could call my favorite, but to be honest, their songs have been getting kind of old. I remember being blown away by Kid A the first few times I heard it, but now it's just "eh," the novelty is gone.

Also, a lot of their songs for me are hit-or-miss. Some even give me a headache. But here are the ones I love:

Fake Plastic Trees
Black Star
Let Down
How to Disappear Completely
Idioteque
There There
Knives Out
Reckoner, that one especially

The only thing I own is the Kid A / Amnesiac splitted double album. Awsome depressed ambience.
And that's a good thing, though I prefer Amnesiac.
But I really can't care about the rest.

Re: The Radiohead Thread 2 years 5 months ago #76903

I never got into Radiohead. They were big, as you all know, in the late 90s, and the singles they released got me mildly interested. But I wanted stuff with a bit more energy at the time (like good old SP), so I didn't buy any of their albums. The last few years though, I have been considering buying their first album and then working through them one by one... haven't got round to it yet, but maybe I will one day.

My favourite Radiohead song (of the few that I've heard) is Fake Plastic Trees - awesome song :)

Yeah I totally agree. A few years ago they were probably my third favourite band, but now they wouldn't even crack top ten. My favourite album is In Rainbows, and I'm only just getting sick of that now.. So it is time they put out another one. A lot of my fellow SP friends really like Radiohead, but you just can't compare them to the Legendary Pumpkins.

Favourite Songs..
1. Fake Plastic Trees
2. All I Need
3. Last Flowers
4. How To Disappear Completely
5. Everything In It's Right Place

I'll honestly say I think OK Computer is a greater work than most of the SP albums besides SD and MCIS. Funny thing about Radiohead, and other bands, is I don't have to listen to them everyday (or even want to) to realize and appreciate how good the music is. I haven't been in a Radiohead mood in quite some time but that doesn't change anything.

That said, I'll be the first to say they are overrated, but not to the point where they are a bad band. I can name a number of bands I think are great, but are still overrated.. most of which I'd get in trouble for saying here :)

My favourite tune of the 21 I causually listen to is Pyramid Song.

By the way, what's all that pitched-voice stuff on Kid A / Amnesiac about ???
Is this maybe a hommage to On The Sunday Of Life ?

Yeah, I've heard of that. I always wanted to try it.
Apparently there's a hidden booklet in one of their albums with future song lyrics in it. :o

I am listening to the 01 and 10 the way it says to be played. It is pretty cool, it really flows perfectly from song to song.

I think you're thinking of the Kid A hidden booklet from the first 1 million copies of the album. I've never heard anything about any future lyrics in them though?

Pyramid Song is also one of my favorites. My top 5 Radiohead tunes would be: (today anyway, always changes)

1. There There
2. Let Down
3. Paranoid Android
4. Pyramid Song
5. A Wolf At The Door

There are so many great Radiohead tunes though, its hard to make a list.

Have you heard about Johnny's new soundtrack?

I wouldn't say the EXACT same, because last I checked, you didn't care much for Megadeth or Soundgarden. :p

By Johnnys new soundtrack, are you talking about that "Norwegian Wood" movie?

No, don't start with Pablo Honey, start with The Bends. Even the band is embarrassed about their debut album... :yay
