You mean you didn't already have Vs.? Shame on you Ryon! ;)

Anyway, I finally got the Stooges "Raw Power Legacy Edition" to see for myself the differences between the Iggy Pop mix I have and the Bowie mix on the Legacy Edition.

I also got The Suburbs by Arcade Fire. Should be a good album.

I'm not really about what I can get for Christmas, but what I can GIVE!!! :monocle

VS is probably my second or third favourite PJ album after TEN.
Rierview Mirror, Daughter, Small Town, Leash and Indifference are my picks..

The Suburbs is a great album also.
I like, The Suburbs, The Suburbs (Continued), Ready to start, Sprawl I + II, Rococo and Suburban War.

I got some pretty good stuff.

Canon Rebel EOS
iRig - Lets you plug your guitar into your iPod/iPhone and play and mess with a bunch of different amp settings and other cool stuff, SUPER RAD (and fun)

A gift certificate to get my windows on my car tinted
A few small other odds and ends..

It was a very good Christmas..but like Frank said, I'm not about what I get, but what I can give, I am just blessed to have so many people in my life who care about me.

VS. is great, but Yield and Binaural are still my favorite PJ albums!

Songs like Brain Of J, Do The Evolution, In Hiding, and Faithful make Yield great while songs like Light Years, Nothing As It Seems, Insignificance, Sleight Of Hand, and Grievance make Binaural great.

Those are all good songs (except do the evolution), and they stand up against the best songs on VS. But I think the notsogood songs on VS are better than the notsogood songs on Yeild and Binaural.

No love for DTE? :confused :o

There aren't many not so good songs on VS. Maybe WMA and Rats. (although I love Rats)

Yield does have a few not so good songs, and I'll be honest, when I listen to Binaural, I usually skip straight to Light Years and go from there. (Breakerfall is meh, Gods Dice is ok, and Evacuation is terrible) To this day, I don't understand why they didn't put some of the great B-sides from Binaural on the actual album instead of the first three songs. Songs like Fatal, In The Moonlight, and Sad should have been on the album. Come on, why would they put Evacuation instead of one of those tunes? It blows my mind!
(almost reminds of a certain bald musician who couldn't sort between the gems and crap in the year 2000)

Yeah it's evolution baby, up my ass..

Spot on with your comments about Binaural kjrain. Sad is fucking brilliant, almost good as Insignificance and should have been on the album and a live staple. As for Ejaculation .. What was Vedder thinking???

I think pjs funniest album though is Vitalogy. Corduroy, Betterman, Nothingman, Not for You and Immortality - Instant Classics.
But as for Spin the black circle :(
Bugs :confused
and Stupid Mop :dead

Yeah, I don't know what they were thinking with all the filler on Vitalogy. It could have been a brilliant 10-song album if they got rid of Pry To, Aye Davanita, Bugs, and Stupid Mop.

My two favorite songs from Vitalogy have to be Corduroy and Last Exit. Last Exit is way underrated, and I actually like it better as an album opener than "Go." Satan's Bed is another brilliant underrated one that people should appreciate more. Vitalogy was basically PJ's last "grunge" album.

Another PJ album that is underaprreciated is Riot Act. I love all the folky stuff on there and even the weirder stuff. Probably PJs most experimental album what with Bu$hleaguer, You Are, Help Help, and Thumbing My Way. Plus they still prove they can rock with songs like Save You and Green Disease. I still hold that Riot Act was the creative peak of PJ, which is probably why the album they put out 4 years later (S/T) disappointed me so much, becuase it was basically a back-to-basics rock album, and screwed up my whole notion of PJs musical progression. S/T is my least favorite PJ album, but I do still love Inside Job and Big Wave. :D

Oh, Gorby. And Boris. :p

I got a Kindle, a few shirts, and my parents gave me a book entitled "How To Be A Gentleman" written by some hick. I didn't want to say anything, but I was kind of insulted. Otherwise, practical gifts this year overall

KJ
You seem like a pretty cool pj fan. Seriously. I've met plenty who don't know what's what but you seem to have it down.
Could it be a Pumpkins influence :confused

I never really listened to their selftitled album because it sounded crap, but THE ONLY SONG I managed to drag away from it was Inside Job, which I love. I went to a concert the year they released that album and they only played two fucking songs from the album (no joke), and played for almost three hours LOL.

I didn't listen to backspacer properly but sounded crap from what I did hear. I think Binaural is better in creativity than Riot Act, but they are sort of twin albums (like Kid A and Amnesiac?) and my favourite two songs from riot act are Love Boat Captain and All or None. I like Last Exit and Satans Bed (yes both underrated!!) but would say Brain of J is without competition for best album opener.

Top five PJ songs::

1. Rierviewmirror
2. Crown Of Thorns
3. Black
4. Present Tense
5. Corduroy
Honorable Mention: I got ID

You?
