I wish I had some vinyl. We have a dusty old record player, it works, but mum and dad's vinyl collection is REALLY old, stuff they had since they were my age (and younger), so when I unknowingly gave them a spin, the numerous scratches on the vinyls made the needle crappy, therefore making all of the vinyl sound shit, weather it was good quality or not..

I really really really wish that the way music is distributed would go back to something like vinyl. Just the fact that it was so huge (12"x12") meant that everything that was contained in it seemed so much more special, seeing as you could fit so much in it, like posters, other extra scrappy bits of paper...

I think what NIN is doing is probably as close as you can get to it, on a digital level.

I love vinyls! I sont think they sound better and they get all warped over time but they are damn cool. The Adore vinyl is beautiful. It has become more of a collectors thing now though. One of my goals is to get all my fave albums on vinyl. Interestingly some bands are re-releasing some of their albums on vinyl. I know the cure recently put out a few.

i love vinyls ... i own the Siamese box set which is on vinyl and i sweat it would have to be my most treasured smashing pumpkins item i own ... the Aeroplane Flies high box set comes close but theres something about vinyl that just makes it all that much better ....

i mean the Siamese box set Vinyls are only the size of a CD anyway so they dont have a significance because of their size ... they just have a vibe about them that makes them so much more important

i think that another reason why they are more significant to me is that who has ever had a "blank record" and who has ever had a "blank CD" ??? records are slightly harder to come by and all the new dare i say "shit" bands havent released on record but back when music was good that was one of the main releases...

I love vinyls, but hate them too. You really cant play them because if you do, they are so easy to ruin.

I have some SP vinyls, but I'm afraid to play them. With my luck they would wreck.

They are pretty and I love the album art. The colored vinyls are neat too, I just don't want to ever play them. They are so expensive to get.

I have Gish, Siamese Dream, and Adore on vinyl, but I haven't opened them. I really wanna get MACHINA on vinyl but can't seem to find one for a decent price. I love vinyl, though. I listen to Paul Simon's Graceland all the time on my record player.

Yeah I have those too, Superchrist. What I really want is MCIS and I Am One, but those are really pricey.

I don't physically have any vinyls, but I have vinyl rips of the Siamese Singles, most of MCIS, and the original I Am One and Tristessa singles that I've acquired over the years.

Vinyls are sooo much better than CD's, they're a whole experience of their own that you can treasure... i loved them since i was a toddler, i'd go round the house, turn all the lights off and ask (demand) my parents to put music on, and it would usually be a Led Zep, Floyd or Joe Walsh record.

If i ever (more like when i) release an album i want to put it on vinyl and do all the artwork and just make it really cool and fun to look thru like the ones i used to when i was a kid.

My friend who was the DJ (scratchie sort) in our band used a Monty Pythons vinyl when we played a meshing of Incubus' Idiot Box into Drive. Beautiful placement of the words and phrases "Spam" and "I think she's dead" made, and still make me, want to buy the record, a turntable and go sampling and scratching. So much fun :D

I prefer CDs just for the convenience. Either is better than downloads though!

Well if where going into convenience cassettes really sound great on a decent Dolby setting :jeff

I just think CDs sound too harsh and cheep, no wonder every one is downloading music theirs not that mush of a difference its all digital.
